A lot of you were interested to learn more about the cast iron pizza. I have to admit I was skeptical myself the first time Tara said she was going to make one, but they’re surprisingly easy and very good.

We use this pizza dough recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction. I have no idea who Sally is, but I hope she gets help for that addiction. Just say no to yeast, Sally!

In any case, while you’re rolling out the dough, put your cast iron skillet in the oven and preheat to 425°. Once you’re ready, drizzle a little olive oil over the skillet, add your dough and any toppings you’d like, and bake for about 15 minutes. Nothing to it!

I can’t say today was relaxing, but it was productive. After breakfast, I ran to Menards for some more Christmas lights. I emerged $198 poorer, so that gives you some inkling over how seriously I’m taking this friendly little neighborhood competition. I bought a lot more than just lights, though—including a cheap fake tree for the basement. Over the years, we have collected quite a few Denver Broncos ornaments, so we decided to set up a Broncos-themed tree downstairs this year…complete with orange and blue lights. We’re pretty happy with how it turned out.

So we got that tree set up and added a bunch more lights to the front yard. And we have an appointment on Tuesday afternoon for a lawn care company to install lights along our roof. Next weekend we’ll put up the tree decorations upstairs. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, yo!

Still not sure if I’m writing every day this month…

  5. I hope you saved big money at Menard’s. Did you at least get an 11% rebate on everything you bought?

    1. OMG, that jingle was playing every five minutes in the store. Drove me to the point of insanity, ha!

As a matter of act, I did get the 11% rebate.

I love that you’re in Minnesota. You’re probably my only follower who has even heard of Menards!
